OBA/ICBO Correspondence Study Programs offer a flexible enrollment schedule, "up-to-the-minute" training information and professional banking instruction, making it one of the most effective ways to enhance your banking knowledge. When enrolling in an OBA/ICBO correspondence course, the OBA will provide the textbook for the course and a set of practical exercises to periodically complete and return for grading. Completing all the exercises, taking the midterm and final examinations under the direction of a bank supervisor and receiving a passing grade qualifies the student for AIB credit. Testing-OutThis method is designed for financial institution employees with adequate education and industry work experience to undertake selfstudy to test out of any OBA/ICBO correspondence course. Each course consists of midterm and final examinations. The student becomes conversant with the subject by studying at their own pace. As there are no lessons or exercises to be submitted for the program, the average of the midterm and final examination grades becomes the course grade. A grade of "D" or better is required to receive credit. The testing-out method tuition is $75.00 for OBA/ICBO members. Additional Services
How To RegisterPlease download the Correspondence Enrollment Form, fill out and fax to ( 503) 581-8714 or mail your form to the OBA office, PO Box 13429, Salem, OR 97309. Cancellation PolicyCancellation requests or transfers to another student must be made in writing five (5) days from receipt of materials. A handling fee of $75.00 will be charged for all cancellations. There will be no refunds or transfers after the 5-day period. Extension PolicyYou are required to complete the course within 6 months from the date of enrollment. One 3-month extension may be approved by the Oregon Bankers Association. AIB courses are a part of a national continuing education curriculum that includes classroom instruction, correspondence study and Internet delivery. All programs are instructor-guided, include measurements of learning, and are designed to increase job skills and enhance knowledge. Completion of prescribed programs can lead to industry-recognized AIB diplomas and certificates, or assist in professional licensing requirements. |
