Financial Literacy
As experts at money management, financial literacy is a natural community service for bankers to be involved in. Both locally and nationally, bankers are taking the lead in communities with financial literacy programs aimed at small children, high school students, adults, senior citizens and persons with limited access to financial services, including recent immigrants and low-to moderate income residents.  Learn more about financial literacy campaigns.

Elder Financial Abuse Prevention Program
This successful public/private partnership with the Oregon Department of Justice, AARP Oregon, the Oregon Association of Area Agencies on Aging, and the Oregon Department of Human Services strives to prevent, detect and report suspected financial abuse of seniors in Oregon.  Learn more about this valuable program.

Everyday Heroes Campaign
The Governor's Commission on Senior Services created the "Everyday Heroes" campaign in an effort to raise awareness of elder abuse, increase reporting, reduce tolerance of elder abuse and find ways of connecting individuals and families with community resources.  For additional information please click here or contact Jennifer Schubert, Member Relations Associate at jschubert@oregonbankers.com.

Home Purchase Assistance Program
In 1996, the Oregon Bankers Association created the Home Purchase Assistance Program (HPAP) with a grant from the Home Ownership Assistance Program (HOAP), a fund established by the Oregon State Legislature to promote affordable homeownership opportunities for low-income Oregonians.

Cornerstones of Our Community
We are very proud of the countless stories about our member banks giving back to the communities they serve. They truly are "cornerstones of our communities."  For examples of this generosity and creativity, download a copy of our most recent Oregon Banks:  Cornerstones of Our Communities publication.

Small Change for SOLV
The OBA, through its member banks, is partnering with SOLV in an exciting new campaign underway ? Small Change for SOLV. SOLV is a non-profit organization that brings together government agencies, businesses and individual volunteers to enhance the livability of Oregon. The purpose of Small Change for SOLV is to fill a gap in funding resulting from requests to execute SOLV?s mission outweighing their funds available. Oregon banks will be participating by becoming depository locations for people to bring their ?small change? for donation to accounts in the name of SOLV. To learn more about the campaign, click here.
