Commercial Lending Boot Camp: Fundamentals of Credit Analysis

Commercial Lending Boot Camp: Loan Underwriting

After you perform a detailed credit analysis of a loan request, the next step is to communicate your findings in writing. Credit memoranda are a primary method of communication within the banking industry. When writing effective credit memoranda, how you communicate matters. This session teaches you the skills required to write an effective credit memorandum, placing emphasis on factors and trends that are important.

Commercial Lending Boot Camp: Loan Review & Managing Problem Loans

In the current economic environment, managing the commercial loan portfolio is paramount in order to
maintain a safe and sound financial institution. Managing the loan portfolio in the face of today’s economy requires a different approach than in the past. Developing the skills required to manage and recognize the early warning signs of problem loans is crucial. This workshop will discuss the macroeconomic, industry, business and management factors which must be considered as part of loan portfolio management, and effective management tools required to navigate through today’s lending challenges.

FDIC's Community Bankers Workshop

This one-day, interactive program is put on by the FDIC to help bank executives and mid-level officers, both new and experienced, stay abreast of the ever-changing business, economic and regulatory environment. Topics include liquidity, consumer compliance and information technology/vendor management.

Northwest Bank Operations School
POSTPONED - August - November | Dates coming soon! 
The Northwest Bank Operations School will be held March – June, 2021 in four 1.5-day sessions at the Wilsonville Holiday Inn. Designed for those looking to advance their knowledge in bank operations, this signature program explores the issues facing bank operations personnel and provides an in-depth framework to examine the operations that support bank services. Bankers have the option to register for the full program and receive a graduation diploma upon completion or to register for individual sessions that meet specific needs.

Whether new to banking or looking for a refresher course, the program provides bank personnel at all levels with the foundation of banking. This innovative course is designed to provide you the tools and knowledge you need to succeed in your role within the banking industry.

Commercial Lending Boot Camp

Focusing on the foundation you need to master commercial lending, these three intensive two-day sessions dive into essential elements of building a safe and sound loan portfolio. Advanced Commercial Lending School
January 2022 - dates to be determined
The Advanced Commercial Lending School will be held over the course of three days in June. Instructor Jeffrey Johnson will build upon concepts taught in the previous Commercial Lending Bootcamp sessions. Designed for lenders and analysts with experience in the credit underwriting process, topics will be advanced to provide a deeper understanding of the credit underwriting process, loan portfolio management and specialized lending​.

Juris Master Online Program - Florida State University College of Law   

The online Juris Master is a 30-credit-hour master’s in law that can be completed on a part-time basis. Students in the program gain a strong foundation in regulatory compliance and legal risk management.

The curriculum is designed for professionals who regularly work with statutes and regulations. Students begin their studies by taking foundational courses in Contracts, Torts, Legislation and Regulation, Legal Studies and Research, and Regulatory Compliance.  Beyond those requirements, students may personalize their curriculum within their chosen concentration. Each concentration has a menu of advanced course offerings to afford students a multi-faceted understanding of the laws impacting those areas.
