FIST is a cooperative effort with members comprised of representatives from the bank and credit union industries, as well as representatives from local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. The sole purpose of FIST is to help reduce crimes committed against financial institutions in Oregon and Washington, and by so doing, protect the safety of financial institution staff, customers and members.
FIST strives to provide:
Educational resources to financial institutions to enhance their robbery, fraud and physical security knowledge and awareness.
A forum for the law enforcement community and financial institutions to meet and discuss crimes against financial institutions.
Support and resources for financial institutions and their employees that are victims of crimes.
All banks and credit unions that have a physical presence in Oregon or Washington and are members in good standing of the Oregon Bankers Association, Washington Bankers Association or GoWest are eligible to be members. Oregon and Washington law enforcement members are also welcome to participate. FIST meetings are held quarterly and information can also be shared quickly via the group's communication channels.
Annual FIST dues are set jointly each year by the sponsoring associations with input from FIST members. Dues are generally based on a per branch fee. OBA strongly encourages the active participation of all OBA, WBA and GoWest member banks and credit unions in FIST. If you would like to review your bank’s FIST representation or would like to appoint additional representatives, please contact OBA Manager of Member Engagement Jennifer Schubert at (503) 576-4126 or [email protected].
