about the Tour
The 79th Oregon Legislative Session was a busy one for the Oregon banking community. We were deeply involved in debates on a variety of issues including employment practices, consumer protection, affordable housing, credit unions and tax proposals, to name just a few. The seminar is designed to not only review the bills impacting the Oregon banking community, but to meet with local legislators and discuss the session. Most of the statutory changes will go into effect no later than January 1, 2018, however a number of bills are set to become effective well before then.
Every participant in these sessions will receive a copy of the popular 2017 digest Oregon Laws Impacting Banks, produced biannually after each regular session of the Oregon Legislature. The digest summarizes enacted Oregon legislation affecting financial institutions and their customers. It also highlights important legislation that did not pass. The digest is a helpful tool as banks implement new policies and procedures to comply with Oregon law.
